Devon James - Guitar, Composer
Devon is from Montego Bay, Jamaica and as a young promising guitarist, he was much sought after to play in bands in the hotel circuit on the north coast. This is where he first met Fred Campbell. Although their musical paths were separated, they have again united to form Skajamz. He has traveled extensively for over twenty-two years with the Skatalites, an internationally famous Ska band, touring the USA, Europe, Asia, South America, Russia, Australia, New Zealand. you name it, he has been there. Devon is the heartbeat of SkaJamz. The band features a number of his compositions and is a showcase for his unique guitar style.
Fred Campbell - Arranger, Drummer
Fred started playing while he was still in high school. He played with a couple "hotel" bands until he got his big break with Carlos Malcolm. Besides the band, he recorded and did shows with most if not all of the upcoming stars of the day, Prince Buster, Owen Grey and later, Bob Marley to name a few, He also played for visiting R&B stars like Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and the list goes on and on. After studying theory and arranging privately and at college, he has now put together Skajamz, a Ska band playing original tunes written by members of the band as well as traditional Ska from the '60s. Fred's arrangements are creative and showcase the talent in the band. A mix of veterans and young "pups", Skajamz is destined for great things.
